To enable all young people, especially those who need support most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens.
Where did you spend your summer months? Where did you meet up with your friends? Who were the adults you interacted with? What are your fondest memories? Our members have asked us to stay open this summer so we can provide them with a safe space to interact with their friends, caring adults, play and learn. “The Boys & Girls Club was the one safe space I went when I was feeling depressed and had no interest in family or school. The Club feels like home. The staff care about me. They speak to me honestly about the world and push me to be my best self. They see potential in me that others have not. I am grateful that the Club is here for me. I want them to be open this summer.” 18 year old member The Amherst Boys & Girls Club is a drop in center for youth in 1st through 12th grade. Through our educational and recreational programming, kids and teens are discovering their strengths and talents and accomplishing things that would make any Club – and community – proud. The Club is providing safe place for the youth in our community. On an average day, 25 members attend the Club, we work to ensure they have quality environments to play, learn about themselves and the kind of person they are capable of being, and enjoy positive mentorship. We want our members to continue to have this opportunity during the summer. This is where YOU can help. This summer we propose to open the Club in July, three days a week including an evening. We need to raise $2500 to do so. We want to be open for all of Amherst youth who need a safe space this summer. Please help us by making a donation. The funds from this campaign will be strictly used to support our new summer programming.
