Cancer Connection is dedicated to encouraging and guiding people living with cancer and their loved ones along the cancer journey, from diagnosis through treatment and beyond. Cancer Connection's purpose is to provide a haven where people with cancer, their loved ones and caregivers can learn to cope with the physical and emotional turmoil that is part of a cancer diagnosis and to explore ways to enhance their strength, their hope and their care through support groups, integrative therapies, creative activities and education. All services are free of charge.

Betsy is one our our shining stars. Her story is but one of many. She was diagnosed with advanced ovarian cancer when she was 47. Her most pressing question was how to tell her children, who were 7 and 10, but her doctors were focused on the surgery and chemotherapy she would have to undergo.

It was at Cancer Connection where she found answers. to her concerns about how her life and her family's lives had changed with her diagnosis. She was fearful when she joined the ovarian cancer support group, but those women became her family. They truly understood her feelings and offered simple common sense answers. They shared their courage. They were not afraid of her sadness. They exulted in her triumphs. That in a nutshell is what makes Cancer Connection invaluable.

Who is your shining star? Mom? Co-worker? Friend? You? Make a donation to Cancer Connection, and we’ll hang a star in honor of someone who has been touched by cancer. You will help people like Betsy, whether giving $10, $25, $50 or $100 - or more.

$10 provides bulbs for a peaceful meditation garden where nature can heal caregivers while their loved one attends a support group.

$25 provides art materials for an art therapy class where people dealing with cancer can let their creativity say what their words cannot.

$50 provides a therapeutic and calming integrative therapy, like acupuncture, to relieve the side effects of surgery, chemo or radiation.

$100 covers an advanced cancer support group meeting where end-of-life concerns can be discussed with clear-eyed compassion.
